The BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU) strike has expanded in recent weeks, affecting many government operations across the province. One of the areas impacted is the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB), which oversees the wholesale supply of cannabis in British Columbia.
Because the strike has disrupted warehouse and distribution services, many cannabis retailers in BC are beginning to feel the effects. While the situation is still unfolding and there’s no confirmed end date, we want to keep our Local Leaf Cannabis customers informed about what this means for you.
Stock Availability at Local Leaf Cannabis
For the moment, our shelves are well stocked, and we continue to serve customers as usual. However, since the strike is ongoing, some of your favourite vapes, flowers, and beverages could run out sooner than expected. We apologize in advance if you notice limited availability on certain products.
How We’re Responding
To minimize disruptions and make sure our customers still have access to great products, we are working closely with direct delivery vendors. This means many producers are sending products directly to our stores, bypassing the impacted provincial warehouses. Not only does this help keep up with demand, but it also allows us to support growers and partners more directly during this challenging period.
Our Commitment to You
Your experience matters most. While the strike creates uncertainty in the cannabis supply chain, our team is doing everything possible to ensure consistent product availability across all Local Leaf Cannabis locations in BC. We’ll continue to keep you updated as the situation evolves.
